Leon holidays
Leon holidays at a glance

We think León is one of Nicaragua’s most elegant cities, and a fascinating place to explore the country’s colonial and revolutionary history. Its historic core is full of red-tiled colonial buildings, grand churches and attractive public squares that make wandering on foot a real pleasure.
As Nicaragua’s second city and intellectual capital, León has long been tied up with culture, learning and political change. Its university, thriving artistic community and youthful atmosphere give it a different energy to many of the colonial cities elsewhere in Central America.
The city is also deeply connected to Nicaragua’s revolutionary past – murals depicting the Sandinista movement and the 1979 Revolution are still visible throughout León, adding another layer to its history.
