Hacienda Boutique and Resort Majoro

Majoro is a Spanish colonial-style hacienda and resort with large gardens, pool and restaurant a few kilometres outside Nazca.

This colonial hacienda, formerly a convent, is now an agreeable countryside hotel and leisure resort a few kilometres outside the desert oasis town of Nazca.

The low Spanish-style buildings have a tranquil setting within expansive gardens where peacocks and alpacas roam freely on the well trimmed lawns. You can sprawl in a lounger beside the large outdoor pool surrounded by foliage and there is a horse and carriage on the property. Enjoy a pisco sour cocktail (the hotel makes its own) in the contemporary bar or shady outdoor café area.

The hotel displays original pieces of colonial and regional art which belong to the proprietor’s personal collection. There are 62 rustic, and very simple rooms of varying sizes, with private bathroom but no TV – there’s a set in the lounge which is a pleasant place to relax featuring plump sofas – and a traditional-style restaurant.

The hotel accepts large-ish groups but they usually are absent during the day. It designates itself as boutique but although service is good and there is a friendly welcome, boutique it is not.
