La Casa que Canta
La Casa que Canta is a luxurious, romantic adult-only hotel promising intimacy and privacy at Zihuantaneco on Mexico’s Pacific coast.
La Casa que Canta describes itself as a romantic hideaway, and you can’t really argue with that. Blissfully luxurious, while at the same time designed to blend in almost miraculously with the ruddy cliffs of the Pacific coastline, the golden sandstone property consists of roomy suites thatched in traditional palapa style overlooking Zihauntaneco Bay. There are several categories of suite but all have views over the ocean: 11 have private plunge pools and all have terraces or Juliet balconies from which to inhale the sea breezes. There’s plenty in the top quality rustic chic décor to remind you of the property’s location in culturally-rich Mexico. Furnishings include terracotta tiling and intricate carved wooden pieces, sometimes embellished with shells. All rooms have king-sized bed (it’s adult only; the minimum age is 16). Complimentary Wifi is included.
The main infinity pool and intimate candle-lit restaurant also have sublime views. At night the sky is lit by twinkling lights from Zihuatanejo -just 10 km away -and the boats bobbing about in the secluded bay beneath you. There’s a spa featuring Mexican treatments and you can also arrange adventurous excursions, including deep-sea fishing. Unashamedly nostalgic and sentimental, the ambiance and facilities render this hotel perfect for honeymoon and anniversaries; small parties and events are also catered for.
