Quinta do Bucanero is an intimate, service-orientated guesthouse built into a hillside near the beach in Praia do Rosa. Its 10 apartments are all of one standard – and except for minor differences in décor, identical. All have air-con, ceiling fan, private bathroom and balcony with hammock and ocean views. Communal areas are decorated in a local rustic style with lots of wood and stone, with some exotic Asian motifs. Facilities include a restaurant/bar, an outdoor Jacuzzi with small pool, and TV/games room.
Access to the beach is through a wide, well marked (but steep) trail through lush vegetation and around a small lagoon that’s good for swimming.
The hotel is 90mins’ drive from state capital, Florianopólis with the final 20 mins along a dirt road.
