Responsible Policies: Independently reviewed
Independently assessed
These independent organisations assess our work against their own standards, and demand evidence rather than good intentions.
Ethy
Ethy is a sustainability accreditation specialist that verifies businesses against an evidence-based system built on the UN Sustainable Development Goals.Rather than one broad tick, it awards a separate trust-mark for each area where it has reviewed the proof, so every badge we carry represents a specific claim someone else has checked. The badges (see below) include commitments on plastic waste, biodiversity, cruelty-free wildlife experiences, treating our staff.
Travelife
Travelife is a leading international sustainability certification for the travel industry. We hold the Travelife Partner Award, which means meeting more than 100 criteria covering how we manage sustainability, run our office, work with suppliers and communicate with you. We’re not stopping there: we’re working towards the next stage, Travelife Certified.

If there’s something you think we could do better, we’d like to hear it – some of our best ideas have come from travellers, teams and partners who asked an interesting question or challenged our approach. Please contact us at cs@journeylatinamerica.com.

Finn discovered his passion for travel on an extensive 18-month trip to Latin America, experiencing the vibrant Carnaval in Rio, the end-of-the-world city of Ushuaia, trekking the Andes and volunteering on the Galápagos Islands.

Maggie visited Latin America on her first backpacking trip when she was 19. Since then, she has taken every opportunity to travel, and has managed to explore a lot of the region in subsequent trips.

Gary discovered what he had been missing with his first foray into the wilds of Latin America. In his role as Product Manager, he combines this personal obsession with years of industry experience to help ensure that travellers will fall for the region every bit as much as he has.
