Novotel Cusco
Superior hotel with colonial character and an ideal location near the main square, housed in an early 16th century building with a contemporary extension.
Novotel Cusco is a good option if you’re looking for a central location in Cusco, a bit of character, and superior comfort without breaking the bank. The focal point is without doubt the stunning courtyard, covered by a vast glass ceiling.
There’s a graceful colonial section dating back to the turn of the 16th century, when it was constructed for a Spanish conquistador, and a modern extension with a bright, contemporary feel. Décor in the former is in keeping with the overall architectural style of the building: a mix of wooden floors, exposed beams and whitewashed walls. It’s the better choice for atmosphere, while rooms in the newer section usually guarantee more peace and quiet.
Facilities include two restaurants and a bar leading off the courtyard. The property could hardly be more central, just three blocks from the Plaza de Armas – Cusco’s historical heart.
