Where can I find the best steak in Buenos Aires and seafood in Santiago?
Mary Anne Nelson - Travel Expert
In Buenos Aires, a must for me is La Cabrera in trendy Palermo – the rib-eye steak just melts in your mouth. 647 Dinner Club in the tango neighbourhood of San Telmo is also superb and seriously refined; it’s a bit on the pricey side (for Argentina) but you’ll love it.
For seafood in Santiago you must head to the Central Market in the centre at lunchtime where there are a number of restaurants serving up sizzling steaks of freshly-caught salmon. And if you have time you really should try La Mar – it's owned by the famous Peruvian chef Gastón Acurio and the food is outstanding. This restaurant is always buzzing so get there early as you can’t reserve a table in advance.
