How can I combine Brazil and Argentina in a single trip?

We can certainly help plan and organise a great trip to South America next January. You mentioned Brazil, Argentina and Peru; it is possible to do all three in the time you have, but you need to be aware that this period is the height of the rainy season in Peru – or rather, in the Andes, that is, Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca – so unless you really don’t mind getting wet and encountering possible landslides on your way to Machu Picchu, I would concentrate on both Brazil and Argentina, which are both big enough and fascinating countries!

So, as a rough idea, in Brazil you could perhaps consider visiting Rio de Janeiro, Salvador da Bahia, Chapada Diamantina National Park, perhaps going to one of the beaches in the area and then fly down to the Iguazú Falls, which are also in Argentina and thus make an easy connection to Buenos Aires. Or, if you’re a bit more adventurous, you could concentrate on Southern Brazil and visit the Serra Geral mountains, following our Secrets of Southern Brazil itinerary. Depending on time, you can always include the Amazon too!

Once in Argentina and, again, depending on time, you could visit, besides Buenos Aires, the wine region –perfect at that time of the year – the Lake District and Patagonia, following our Luxury Argentina: Vineyards, glaciers and gauchos itinerary.
