How do I travel from Buenos Aires to Esquel?

I’m afraid you can no longer travel by train from Buenos Aires to Esquel. If you are keen to travel overland, there is a very good coach service linking the two destinations. There are daily departures but it will take roughly 24 hours.
If you would like to experience a train journey in Argentina, then I recommend the Old Patagonian Express (known locally as 'La Trochita') which departs from Esquel to Maitén. I made the journey in early 2013 and it was superb.
