Whether you’re after an adventurous, action-packed, or relaxing family holiday Brazil’s vastness and diversity means that you can find a varied and exciting trip for the entire family.

Rio de Janeiro
Where the beaches are buzzing, street art colours the streets, samba music plays in the background and Christ the Redeemer keeps a watchful eye, iconic Rio de Janeiro is full of experiences to be had. Active teens will thoroughly enjoy taking a bike tour of the city’s beach district before taking the cable car up to Sugar Loaf Mountain. Head up at the end of the evening to watch a glorious sunset fall over the city. The weather in Rio can be difficult to predict, so if you only have two days in the city and the first is clear and sunny, don’t waste time – head up to Christ the Redeemer for legendary views of the city.

Emerald Coast
Just 2 hours west of Rio, the laid-back golden beaches of the Emerald Coast are perfect for all ages from toddlers to teens. Splash around spotting tropical fish in the crystal clear waters off Ilha Grande, relax on the beach or discover the colonial city of Paraty known for its cobbled streets and colourful buildings.

Iguazú Falls
No visit to Brazil is complete without seeing Iguazú Falls, often considered to be Latin America’s most awe-inspiring natural sight. 276 separate cascades which form the falls are surrounded by a sub-tropical jungle, protected by national park status that is alive with wildlife and an abundance of butterflies to amaze your young ones. From the Brazilian side you’ll get a panoramic view of the 3km cliff-edge and most impressively, the walkway over the water which leads right into the spectacular Devil’s Throat, where you can see Iguazú from its most dramatic aspect.

Amazon
Romantic, exotic and vital to the planet, the Amazon evokes a sense of adventure in all who visit it. Your family will be delighted by the vibrant colours of nature and the wealth of wildlife that can be seen around every corner. Staying in a lodge can mean heading out into the rainforest on foot to spot wildlife whereas a river cruise gives the option of seeing the meeting of the waters as well as reaching isolated areas and communities. Educational and exciting, the Amazon is bound to inspire the whole family.
