As a new decade begins, our thoughts turn to the future of travel. With 40 years of experience under our belt, we’ve remained dedicated to responsible travel from the very start and are always looking at ways we can positively impact the continent we love. Looking forward to 2020, our travel experts share their advice about travelling Latin America with sustainability proudly at the forefront.

One of the hottest travel trends this year?

Slowing down!

With many travellers keeping in mind the environmental impact of their journeys, 2020 will see a huge rise in ‘slow travel’. The idea is to visit fewer places, spending a longer time in each destination to truly soak up its atmosphere. In addition, there’s a growing demand for overland itineraries. This is a great way to travel as it allows visitors to cut unnecessary flight emissions and gain a deeper understanding of their natural surroundings. Latin America’s winding train tracks and open roads invariably offer incredible natural vistas, from verdant mountain valleys to sun-scorched deserts.

Whether you prefer to explore at your own pace in a hire car, seek out an exhilarating active adventure or you're looking to take the road less travelled, Journey Latin America offer an increasing range of ‘slow travel’ itineraries.
