Five Reasons to travel to Costa Rica in 2015

For Costa Rica, this small breathtakingly beautiful country, the New Year has begun with a bang! It is the holiday destination on everybody’s lips, from honeymooners to families, to solo travellers and groups of friends.
Despite the obvious, natural beauty, world famous coffee, exotic fauna and Caribbean shores, you may be wondering why Costa Rica has suddenly hit the lime light. Only yesterday, it was voted the most recommended travel hotspot for 2015 by the Daily Mail.
So, we compiled a list of what we believe to be the top five triggers which have and are continuing to boost sales in the number of visitors to Costa Rica.
1. Fourth World Heritage Site

Costa Rica recently gained their fourth World Heritage Site, the mysterious Diquís Stone Spheres, discovered in the 1930s.
For more information on these intriguing stone spheres of which there are up to 300 dotted across Costa Rica, take a read of Barbara’s blog: Costa Rica’s Fourth World Heritage Site: Diquís Stone Spheres.
If the mystery surrounding these stone spheres has caught your attention, take a look at our Costa Rica Wildlife: Discovery holiday, Luxury Nicaragua & Costa Rica holiday and our Explore & Relax Costa Rica & Panama: Wildlife, rainforest and beaches – now’s the time to go as we have a £300 per couple saving on this holiday!
2. New Hotel Openings & Luxury Adventures Itinerary

Smart new hotels openings, have been attracting media attention, and are a sign of progress. Clearly there is demand for more high-end hotels.
The latest is the Andaz Peninsula Papagayo Resort hotel, luxurious yet not pretentious. Although it sounds strange, the hotel blends perfectly with its natural surroundings. The hotel belongs to the Hyatt portfolio but has many unique touches. A short drive from Liberia airport it shares it’s grounds and some of the many facilities, such as the 18 hole golf course, with its equally prestigious neighbour the Hotel Four Seasons.
We have cost up a 12-day itinerary with transfers, B&B accommodation – including smart new Rio Perdido and Andaz Peninsula Papagayo Resort – some meals, excursion and international flights which costs from £3,620 per person.
Off the back of the smart, first-class lodges opening in Costa Rica, we have put together a new Luxury Adventures Holiday in Costa Rica. We wanted a holiday itinerary to showcase these hand-picked lodges; Pacuare Lodge, El Silencio and Rio Perdido.
In brief: This short but utterly exhilarating holiday packs in the cream of Costa Rica’s world-renowned portfolio of outdoor activities, and is guaranteed to thrill all the senses. As you aren’t away from home for long and your feet will hardly touch the ground from start to finish, you’ll be glad of the level of comfort and luxury of your accommodation in a country which prides itself on its excellent infrastructure for visitors.
Eight days costs from £1,731pp (excluding international flights)
3. Self-Drive Success

Costa Rica has proved itself a safe and enjoyable destination for self-drive holidays, with its top notch infrastructure and quiet, scenic roads, Costa Rica is ideally suited to this type of exploration. The national parks with their extensive trails are always accessible.
The national parks with their extensive trails are always accessible while there are only a few motorways which encourages ample opportunity to soak in the views and stop wherever the mood takes you.
Take a look at our Self-Drive Costa Rica: Coast to Coast adventures holiday which visits San José, Tortuguero, Sarapiqui, Monteverde Cloud Forest and Guanacaste over two weeks. Also if you’re lucky you might catch the end of the sales on flights.
4. Football Fever

Although the Football World Cup isn’t fondly remembered by all, namely the hosts, it was a raging success for Costa Rica. Costa Rica out performed themselves, reaching the Quarter finals, bringing the destination to the forefront of people’s minds.
Tom in our Bespoke Team was fortunate enough to be out in Costa Rica during this exciting time and shared his experience in this entertaining blog: World Cup Fever in Costa Rica.
5. Great Offers

Great offers; we are offering a special offer – saving £300 per couple – on our Explore and Relax: Volcanoes to the beach holiday.
