Train Journeys
Latin America’s iconic rail journeys is an incredible way to see Central and South America, over canyons and across the full spectrum of the region’s geography. They penetrate into some extraordinarily picturesque landscapes, and often involve marvels of engineering almost as impressive as the surroundings.
From the Copper Canyon railway to the Train to the Clouds, there are many spectacular routes to choose from if you want to discover Central and South America by train.
Some are notable for the scenery they traverse, others for the altitude they reach, and others for their destination. Machu Picchu, for example, can only be reached via a magnificent train journey, and to really get there in style there’s even the option to be transported back to the golden age of rail travel on the sumptuous Hiram Bingham. Meanwhile, other lines, such as the Old Patagonian Express, recapture the excitement of travelling by steam locomotive. Whatever it is that inspires your love of train travel, you’re sure to find a Latin American journey that will take it to new heights.
