Cultures of Lake Titicaca

per33-uros-free-im

Visit traditional Aymara villages on the shores of the world's highest navigable lake.

Vast Lake Titicaca lies at the confluence of several important indian cultures. We can give you an authentic insight into their world on a cultural excursion visiting the lakeside villages of the Aymara, learning about their history, agriculture and trades.

First we’ll visit Chimu to see Lake Titicaca’s iconic reed boats and meet the local fishermen who sail them. Next there’s the chance to discover the age-old Collao community at Chucuito and haggle at the markets of Acora, before continuing on to the small lakeside village of Kallata to see traditional crafts and agricultural techniques and to enjoy a typical lunch at a family home.
