Spot the cock of the rock bird

See the courtship display of the magnificent cock of the rock at a cloud forest 'lek'.
With bold reddish-orange plumage and a wonderful fan-shaped crest rising up like a headdress, the male cock of the rock is highly prized sighting for birders. Fortunately it can be found quite easily if you know the location of a lek, one of the specific places where the male performs his mating display to attract the duller brown female.
We'll guide you to a lek in the cloud forest, where you can watch the spectacular dawn show without disturbing the birds. On the nature walk there and back you'll also have the chance to spot other bird life such as the golden-headed quetzal, choco toucan and crimson rumped toucanet.
