Nothofagus Hotel and Spa
Quirky and unique hotel modelled on a baobab, nestled within fairytale surroundings. The surprisingly wide range of amenities includes a pool, mini-golf, spa and nature trails.
The quirky Nothofagus Hotel and Spa sits in the wilderness of lakes, volcanoes and pristine Valdivian rainforest that compose the Huilo Huilo Reserve, one of northern Patagonia's least visited yet most beautiful regions.
Enter a fairytale world which seems to have jumped straight out of the Hobbit. Inspired by the African baobab tree this unique hotel is shaped like a pine cone, with huge windows offering forest and volcano views. The structure houses a surprisingly wide range of amenities, including a restaurant, bar, library, games room and internet room. All the styling and décor is inspired by the natural surroundings and crafted by local artists. Windows, walls, doors and stairs are carved out of regional wood.
In the grounds you'll find a swimming pool, mini-golf and a spa with massages, sauna and steam room, and you can even take a bath in a hollowed out tree trunk! It is possible to follow some short, self-guided trails from the hotel, while longer guided hikes, visits to hot springs, mountain biking, kayaking, canopying and archery are offered at additional cost.
