Mamiraua Reserve – spot pink dolphins and red-faced monkeys

Spot pink dolphins and the red-faced Uakari monkey in Mamirauá Amazon Reserve, Brazilian Amazon.
Mamirauá is a protected reserve of seasonally flooded virgin forest on the banks of the Amazon river. It is an excellent example of sustainable jungle management in a remote spot 600km from Manaus. An extraordinary jungle experience awaits you here, deep in the Brazilian Amazon, as you immerse yourself in a primeval wonderland brimming with birds, primates and aquatic life.
From the reserve’s only jungle lodge and led by guides from nearby communities you will explore forest trails, rivers and channels by canoe or on foot (depending on the season). Sightings of the striking pink dolphin are virtually guaranteed, and sloths, squatting unmoving in the treetop canopy, can be easy to spot with the help of your guide. If you are lucky, you may catch a glimpse of red-faced white Uakari monkeys which live only in the forests of Mamirauá.
