Swim with whale sharks

Encounter the gentle giant of the seas on a boat trip from the coast of southern Belize offering the chance to swim with the world's largest marine species.

Between May and September, from the coast of southern Belize, it’s possible to take an optional sea trip  in the company of the magnificent whale shark, the world's largest marine species.

While they may look a little intimidating, these placid underwater giants are filter feeders and pose no threat to humans – indeed, you can jump in and join them on a special whale shark watching boat trip. Surrounded by endless ocean and dwarfed by this mighty 12m fish, you cannot help but be humbled by nature's grandeur.

The manatee roam from Gladden Spit to Placencia according to season.
