Small and welcoming lodge on the serene shores of a lagoon in the Iberá marshes, ideal for wildlife lovers.

The small and welcoming Posada Aguape is located on the wildlife-rich shores of a tranquil lagoon in a relatively undiscovered area of Argentina, some 500km from Iguazú Falls (with which it is often combined). The nearest airport is five hours away at Posadas.

In harmony with the rural serenity of the surrounding countryside, the ranch-style lodge is a wonderful base for couples, friends, individuals and families who enjoy the outdoor life. Most of its guests come here for the opportunity to spot a plethora of birds and animals in their natural environment, but you may find yourself equally enchanted by the quiet beauty and idyllic atmosphere of the Iberá marshlands.

Accommodation is in simple double suites decorated in the traditional style of the local area. There is a swimming pool in which to cool off on summer afternoons, and the lodge has its own private pier as well as a dining room and bar.

Included in your stay are a variety of excursions: motorboat outings on the lake and treks guided by naturalist specialists to observe the native birds, alligators, monkeys, capybara, pampas deer, marsh deer, river otters and butterflies. Horse riding and fishing can be organised locally and there are also canoes, kayaks and bicycles for independent exploration.
