Sail on Lago del Desierto

Get out into Patagonia’s remote wild landscapes with a boat trip on the Lago del Desierto.

From El Chaltén it’s a scenic 2.5 hour drive to the serene yet imposing Lago del Desierto, from whose glassy shores snow-capped mountains rise up on all sides.

A short lakeside walk gives you the chance to breathe in the scenery before embarking on a 2 hour boat trip. You can admire the distinctive crest of Mount Fitz Roy, and there’s a multitude of different angles and views to enjoy from the boat.
