Estancia Dos Lunas
Boutique country ranch in classic country style with a nod towards the contemporary, set within ruggedly beautiful countryside just calling out to be explored on horseback.
Set within the ruggedly beautiful countryside in the Andean foothills around Córdoba, this well-loved Estancia Dos Lunas combines an intimate atmosphere with a tasteful aesthetic. Conveniently it’s only about an hour and a half's drive from the airport, yet the magnificent scenery and occasionally bumpy journey give a palpable sense of entering the wilderness, and once you arrive there can be no doubt that you are deep in the evocative territory of the Argentine sierras..
The original ranch building has been transformed into boutique accommodation, with just eight individually decorated rooms with iron bedsteads and polished wooden flooring. The décor is very much classic country style, but with a nod towards the contemporary. Antiques and rural artefacts are scattered around the property adding to the homely feel that stems from the owners’ welcoming, hands-on approach.
Proprietors Vicky and Juan are driven by a passion for the land and for the horses that are so central to the lifestyle of Argentina’s rural heartland. You certainly don’t need to be a keen or experienced rider to enjoy staying at Dos Lunas, but fellow horse lovers will be in heaven here – there are two guided rides a day, of about two hours' duration. Beginners are well catered for too, and the horses are extremely well-trained and surefooted. If you don't want to ride there are plenty of walking trails to explore around the property and you can laze beside the ranch's large circular pool.
Fresh meals are prepared in the ranch's kitchens, typically a buffet breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and Italian-style dinner; guests may also be treated to a traditional asado barbecue during their stay.
