Pampa Hermosa Ecolodge
A friendly and comfortable thatched wildlife eco-lodge on the banks of a rainforest-fringed river in the Peruvian Amazon.
This congenial, family-friendly eco-lodge is situated on the banks of the river Ulcumayo, a jade green, rock-strewn waterway cutting a swathe through jungle vegetation. Fringed by huge trees, and swollen with the water from excitable streams, the river is an ideal place for an adventure lodge, offering swimming and rapelling down smooth rock faces coursed by waterfalls, while trails along the bank introduce you to the minutae of tropical wildlife.
The rustic lodge consists of smart but simple wooden, thatched cottages with private bathroom (hot and cold water). Some of these cabins have terraces or balconies overlooking the forest and there are hammocks and deckchairs where you can sit to enjoy the view and watch the birds. They are fairly spacious, with comfortable beds, and feature golden hardwood throughout. There is a covered restaurant with open walls, and a bar where the walls are covered with faded photographs of the family who founded the lodge.
