A Computer Science graduate, Paul spent seven months after university travelling from Colombia to Argentina and came home hooked on the continent. He quickly earned a place in our Tailor-made Holidays team where he now channels his extensive experience into creating equally memorable trips for our clients.

His favourite places in Latin America include Quito, capital of Ecuador, where he spent a considerable amount of time learning Spanish – something he highly recommends in order to facilitate a deeper connection with the people and culture of Latin America. He also loved the Uyuni Salt Flats of Bolivia for their surreal beauty and the adventurous Lost City jungle trek in Colombia.

What Is Your Favourite...

Place:

Atacama Desert – the colours, the scenery, the clean crisp air and clear nights. The hiking, the stargazing, the volcanoes and wildlife. All of these things have impressed me both times I have visited the area.

Hotel:

Gran Velas Los Cabos – an unapologetically luxurious property offering some of the biggest and best rooms I’ve seen across the continent. Supported by fantastic food and drink included during your stay, it’s the definitive place to unwind and let go.

Excursion:

Zip lining through the Copper Canyon – spectacular panoramas, warm bright sunshine and the thrill zooming down some of the longest, highest wires in the world.

Top Travel Tip

Ride hailing apps like Uber are increasingly popular in Latin America these days though predominantly in the larger cities. It is a great option to get around if you have a day free to explore independently.

Top Packing Tip

A waterproof day pack can be a great addition to the suitcase, especially if visiting a tropical region or somewhere where outdoor pursuits are on the agenda.
