Hannah spent a number of years in Colombia as a child, and has also lived in Brazil, where she worked in tourism, and in Costa Rica, volunteering at a centre for local children. She speaks Spanish and Portuguese and studied both languages as part of her degree in Latin American Studies.

Hannah particularly loves the landscape of Chile, the people of Colombia and the variety and vibrancy of Brazil. Expedition cruising through the remote glacier-strewn Chilean fjords of southern Patagonia and exploring the wildlife rich Galapagos archipelago rank amongst her most memorable experiences since joining Journey Latin America but Hannah also particularly enjoys being active! She has hiked on remote Easter Island, completed both the Salkantay and Lares treks in Peru, rafted Costa Rica’s Pacuare River and galloped across the sand dunes in the Atacama Desert on a thrilling horse ride.

Hannah has already introduced her young daughter to Latin America, having visited Mexico City and toured the  Yucatan in a hire car when she was just 2 years old.

Having worked at Journey Latin America now for many years, Hannah’s extensive travel experience combined with her excellent sales and interpersonal skills mean she is a greatly valued member of our Tailor-made Holidays and Group Tours sales team.

What Is Your Favourite...

Place:

The Atacama Desert as it’s unlike anywhere else. The scenery is stunning and there is so much to do, spotting flamingos in the lagoons, visiting the geysers before sunrise, horse riding along the sand dunes, and of course it’s one of the best places in the world to see the stars.

Hotel

Explora Patagonia for it’s incredible location right in the heart of Torres del Paine National Park and the array of treks and horse rides that they offer with some of the best guides in the area. After a day of exploring they offer fabulous food in their restaurant.

Excursion

Hiking along the Weavers Trail in Peru. I felt privileged to trek in the beautiful remote mountains and then waking up with the local children waiting outside my tent to see me!

Top Travel Tip:

Be brave and try some of the more unusual local dishes, they are normally popular for a good reason!

Ceviche dish from Peru

Top Packing Tip:

Always take swimwear! Even if you’re not expecting to swim there are always opportunities to take a dip whether it’s in hot springs, a glacial lake, or a cenote you’ll regret not having the right gear!
