As our name suggests, we are single-minded about Latin America. This sets us apart from other travel companies and allows us to offer you not just a holiday but the opportunity to experience something extraordinary on inspiring journeys through Mexico, Central and South America.

Having exclusively dedicated ourselves to the region since 1980, we’re still the UK’s leading specialist in travel to Latin America. When you travel with us, you gain access to over 40 years of experience, expertise and knowledge from a friendly team of travel experts who all have extensive first-hand knowledge of Latin America and great enthusiasm for sharing it.

where it all startED

Over 40 years ago, two British visionaries, Brian Williams and Chris Parrott, met while teaching in Rio de Janeiro. During their time there, they travelled all over South and Central America.

Once back in London, they capitalised on this experience to found Journey Latin America in 1980. It was conceived as a travel company dedicated to helping others explore this most fascinating of continents and the operation quickly grew. Flight sales and escorted group tours were supplemented in the 1990's by innovative tailor-made holidays, where a growing team of Latin America travel experts create private itineraries to fulfil individual dreams.

With some 50 staff in our UK office, a dozen or so roving tour leaders and a network of trusted partners across the continent, we have assembled a truly dedicated team. All our staff have lived, worked or travelled extensively throughout Latin America and some have been with us for over 30 years.

But we don’t rest on our laurels: our knowledge is refreshed with frequent trips to inspect what we know, seeking out new places to visit, places to stay, and things to do. We’ve always shared one ambition: to be the most insightful group of professionals in the world in travel to Latin America.

Over four decades, we have consistently chosen to focus solely on Latin America. Other travel companies offering trips there come and go, but few can offer our wealth of first-hand experience and such a broad portfolio of experiences and adventures. As we grow and progress, our ever-increasing bank of knowledge and expertise shines through.

Our founders have earned their retirement; we have new partners now, but our close-knit team continues to operate with the freedom and independence which has always sparked our imagination and defined our brand.
